About Howelsen Hill Ski Area

Winter: Howelsen Hill Ski Area is one of the oldest continuously operating ski areas in North America and sits in the heart of Steamboat Springs. In winter, visitors can enjoy skiing and snowboarding on groomed runs while the facility also supports competitive ski jumping and youth winter sports programs. Its central location and community atmosphere make it an important part of Steamboat’s historic ski culture.

Summer: During the summer months, Howelsen Hill remains open as a community recreation area offering hiking trails, mountain biking access, and outdoor sports facilities. The park also hosts local events, training programs, and outdoor recreation activities while providing scenic views of the Yampa Valley.
