U.S. National Whitewater Center

The U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, is the world’s largest outdoor recreation facility of its kind. Built around the world’s biggest manmade whitewater river, the 1,300-acre property also includes extensive woodlands and 40 miles of trails for mountain biking, running, and hiking. Activities range from whitewater rafting, kayaking, and flatwater paddling to zip lining, ropes courses, rock climbing, and seasonal ice skating. The Center is also known for hosting Olympic-level whitewater competitions, large-scale races, music festivals, and year-round community events.
